We lost Dennis Simiyu Muyila last night to heartless hitmen. The world does not want good people like him, only miscreants and thugs will survive.
Dr. Pius Mutuku Mutie, the University community, especially your level headed colleagues, will really miss you. How about the animated discussions on sports and politics at the Senior Common Room? We'll really miss your contributions, rest in eternal peace. .
RIP Sims.....am still coming to terms with your passing on.....

ReplyDeleteDear Friends,
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed sad for Kenya as we lost two leaders in a plane crash on June 10. The deaths of Prof. George Saitoti and his assistant Orwa Ojode, two pilots and their bodyguards, sadly coincided with the fourth anniversary of the deaths of roads Minister Kipkalya Kones and Lorna Laboso, who also died in a chopper crash.
As Christians we need to pray for the country, especially now that we are approaching the General Election. We pray that the elections will be peaceful. In the June Update, we try highlighting the plight of squatters. They are a forgotten lot, even as the government settles the IDPs. Land still remains a focal point in Kenya; it was the basis upon which the struggle for independence was waged. Sadly though, many Kenyans remain landless despite the sacrifices made by their fathers and forefathers.
